“A platform for professional women, entrepreneurs and business women in private sector, small and medium sized enterprises, industry experts and business leaders to come together to learn, share experiences and expand their network of trusted contacts.”
QueenMakers, pursues proactive strategies to develop and empower women and girls to take on leadership roles in their communities through; training, mentoring, capacity building and coaching. The founders believe that the full and active participation of women in economic activities and decision making is a pre-requisite for positive change and development in Sub Saharan Africa. They also firmly believe that an investment in women’s leadership training, mentoring, and capacity building and coaching will result in a world that is a better place for all.
Our aim is to provide a platform for the formalization and growth of the women in these sectors. As such, we have identified key areas where we believe women need support:
Soft Skills Training and Development
Coaching and Mentoring
As it stands Entrepreneurship will be the broad based driver of economic growth for Africa with the potential to create jobs for the more than 200 million young Africans between ages 15 and 24. However, whilst Sub Saharan Africa has the highest rate of female entrepreneurship across the world (27%), the typical business profile is a consumer-oriented, one-woman enterprise with no employees and low expectations for future growth There are numerous NGO and skill building programs focused on micro and small businesses, but limited attention has been paid to investing in high growth female entrepreneurs who have the greatest potential to create large enterprises. It is these women who have the power to become global leaders and effect change on a mass scale.
